Here are some frequently asked questions that Samantha would love to answer for you!

1) How can I acquire an autographed picture of Samantha?

Please send a pre-stamped envelope with your address on it to:

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

2) How do you stay in shape?

My motto for staying in shape is to "keep my body guessing" what workout or intensity I'll throw at it.

My workout regime is more limited since having a baby ... and especially during the production of Dancing With the Stars - but I still try to get to a gym class or workout outdoors at least 2-4 times a week. Some weeks I only get there 2 times. The rest of the year - working full-time at THE INSIDER (instead of double job duty with both shows), I take classes or do a power walk or stair-climbing 3-5 days a week.

The key for me is mixing it up so I don't get bored, which keeps my body guessing and, therefore, challenged - such as: Bikrim or Power yoga, stairs, cardio/sculpting class which alternately uses weights with cardio bursts.

It's all about consistency and focus. For abs - it's all about your CORE - that's the center part of your body (between your pelvis and your bust): you should keep your abs engaged during whatever exercises you are doing - weights, crunches, elliptical, running, kickboxing, yoga, pilates - whatever!

Of course - a healthy DIET is essential. If you have all the good intention to workout and be diligent with exercise, but you eat a cheeseburger and fries 5 times a week - forget about ever toning-up to your satisfaction. Now, that doesn't mean you can't eat "bad" foods (goodness, I sure do - love the fries and I have a big sweet tooth!!!) - but be aware of what you are putting in your body. That doesn't mean you need to become obsessive and fear fat/carbs/whatever ... just be cognizant of what you eat and of portion size. And HAVE FUN!

Good luck!

3) How do you get your toned arms?

Besides my 26-lb baby arm-lifts? (My daughter loves me to carry her and that has helped keep me toned since having her!).

Okay, I love free weights. 3-5 lb weights. I use them in a variety of ways to move and tone each and every little muscle in my arms. Here are some of my faves:

Upright Rows
Lateral Lifts
Push-ups (the best universal arm toner there is!)
Overhead Press
Arm kickbacks (to target that flabby area on the underside of the arms)

4) Who designed your dress and/ or jewelry on Dancing with the Stars?

Check out the fashion section of my site. It has both the designers and the night the dress and jewelry were worn!

5) What is your advice for getting started as a host/ entertainment news reporter?

Get as much on-camera experience as possible before trying to get an agent, contact a local news show or the like.

Once you have a solid amount of experience (even if it means grabbing your video camera and a friend and "playing" host, make things up - be inventive -- this will make you that much more comfortable on camera, which is paramount!), take your BEST on-camera material -- even if that means it's just 1-2 minutes -- and edit it together very nicely to make a compilation tape (aka comp reel). THIS is what you send out for jobs (along with a resume and maybe even a headshot).

These tools should accurately reflect the BEST you that is you ...making sure the head-shot is NOT a "glamour-shot" -- it should look like YOU when you walk in a room - you don't want a news director/executive producer to call you in for a meeting based on your photo and then wonder who the girl is that just walked into the room!

It is with the GOOD comp reel, head-shot and resume that those hiring will determine whether or not to hire you. You have to spend a little (note: little) money to make money - but don't be swindled!
So:

1) Get as much on-camera experience as possible - doing what it is you dream to do, ideally. (i.e. If you want to be a sportscaster, head the sports arena in your town and shoot stand-ups -- on-camera intros -- to the story and do interviews with fans as they enter/leave the event. Have fun with it!)
2) Carefully look over all of your on-camera reporting/hosting/intros/interviews/etc and determine which elements are the VERY BEST only the BEST - even if it means your reel is only 2 minutes. Long does NOT equal good.
3) Edit together a COMP REEL
4) Take some head-shots -- this is where you should be sure to hire the best possible professional photographer (not your mom). Just be sure the photos look like you.
5) Print out resume - even if it just has your objective and college experience... or whatever you have so far.
6) Submit to possible job. Make a dream list, a reach list, and a attainable list (those jobs you are most likely to obtain.)

Perseverance and ambition are essential. GOOD LUCK!
